WoWaholic Relapse

I was going to make this huge post about my shadow priest today but I’ve decided to save that for the next episode. I have so much to say about her. I could gush all day really and it’s just going to sound over the top as usual :)

So instead, I’m going to make a confession here. I have been trying to avoid thinking about WoW all day today. Since TBC release, I’ve gotten an adrenaline shot for WoW. Whatever I felt about it over the last two years.....about 10x that now. I’m giddy, I’m still in shock. And most of all, it’s like I’ve been hit with a dose of WoWcrack again.

I’m so afraid I’m going to become addicted again. Actually, it might already be too late. My obsession to seeing new content, doing new quests, getting to 70, seeing the instances is growing exponentially.

All I can think about when I wake up is getting back into the Outlands. Sitting at my desk at work, I just daydream about the next instance run we’re going to do or what new things I’m going to find out about my priest abilities.

I can say one thing I’ll be mentioning in the podcast, I’m very happy I decided to roll a new toon for the expansion. There’s something nice about everything being new. Tabula Rasa! Ironically, that’s the name of the NC Soft MMORPG. Heh. It basically means starting fresh, clean, from scratch in architectural terms.

Right now, I’m fidgeting. I want to go home so badly to log in and set myself in the que. Perhaps the adrenaline and obsession will subside after TBC has been out for awhile. I guess we’ve just been so starved for long for new content that TBC is like taking someone who has fasted for the past year to an all-you-can-eat buffet. Dinner is served!!!

There's nothing wrong with having a passion for somthing, if anything it reflects a sense of hummanity.

Back in my City of Heroes days, I took a week off College, just so I could do the all day instances (yep, you heard me right CoH has 16-24 hour instances) with my static 8 player party.

Heck there was one time, when our 2nd out of 4 Firebase Zulu (pretty much like the end of end game, baring Hamidon) instance, we had the final boss bug into a wall, and we ended up having to take shifts coming in and out of the group over a space of 56 hours, before a GM finally helped us out.

A passion to play WoW, is no more wrong, then a passion for football (soccer :P), Basket Ball, because at the end of the day Ala the world wouldn't revolve if it wern't for those with a burning (no pun intended) desire to achieve somthing.

Besides those without a drive, tend to be the ones who sleep for 20 hours a day on the weekends anyway, and I don't think I have to say what life style I think is sad -.-

I know exactly what you mean, here I sit at 8am in work. :(

I'm wishing I could be at home playing TBC. I'm loving it so far!

Hope all is well.

My friends and I just ran Coilfang Resevoir Slavepens tonight and cleared out the first 2 bosses before the rolling restarts hit. Even though we are level 62 and 61s in a level 64 instance we did just fine. We are progressing so fast and our 5 man group has become really golden (Warrior, Rogue, Mage, Druid, Priest).

Just thought I'd give you something to drool over, this dropped for me today.

You are going to bug out when you see it. Its this awesomely shaped mace with BUBBLES! that come out of the center and leave a trail like Benediction does.

I have been pretty much the same. Just the ability to do something meaningful without having to have 19 to 39 other people has been very refreshing.

I have been questing in Zangermarsh as well. Half way to 64 now. Have not made it into any of Coilfang instances yet but should do so by this weekend.

And I love the intamacy of a five man group in instances. Kinda gets rid of the loot whore mentality since if something drops, it is likely there is only one person in the group that can use it. Two at most.

I am enjoying the quality of the gear and am a little shocked that some of the items that involved so much effort to get previously are being replaced by items that are requiring very little effort and time to acquire.

Lot's of good things to say about the expansion.

And regarding addiction, you are not alone. And it is not as severe as it could be. I mean your sitting there at work thinking about WoW. But think about those people who can't be bothered with work cause they would rather play WoW.Or the students who drop out of school because of it.

Your doing okay considering. I mean you do maintain a job, a website, and a podcast besides just playing the game.

A hopeless addict would not bother with the job, website, or podcast.
