No more PvP noobs

Well Blizzard has finally put their foot down. A new sign has been posted. NO NOOBS ALLOWED. It should make for a very interesting Season Four of Arenas.

The new Season 4 items will have the below personal and team arena rating requirements:
Shoulders: 2200
Weapon: 2050
Head: 1700
Chest: 1600
Legs: 1550
Gloves: none
Off-hand: none

In addition, some of the Season 4 quality items that will be purchasable with honor will also carry a personal and team arena rating requirement:
Boots: 1700
Ring: 1650
Bracers: 1575
Belt: none
Necklace: none
Trinket: none

I had a lot to say about how Blizzard was going about Arenas in a podcast I have yet to publish....this adds a good new twist to it. No more complete PvP noobs running around in full Season 3 gear. Is this another slap in the casual players face? Is the standard non-serious team going to be dancing in the 1300s forever?

Another hardcore/casual divide. And once again, we put on our suits of mediocrity and thanks the Blizzard Gods for putting us in our place. :D As it should be??? hmmm. I need more time to figure out what side of the fence I'm on...

I'm curious what a mass exodus of the pvp noobs is going to mean for how difficult it is to achieve the ratings. Consider that suddenly you kick out half of all arena teams, only you're only removing the low end, people giving up even the little grind they do as it's now pointless to them as they'll never achieve the ratings needed. Suddenly all you have left is a much tougher crowd to earn points against. Maybe it'll be good. More competition for the people who want it after all.

And how about queue times? Will 2s queue come down with reduced stress from the exodus of some players? with 5's suddenly become the longer queue due to reduced number of teams?

It'll be interesting to see what happens when it goes all goes live that's for sure! :)

It pretty much blows my only way to play battlegrounds. I don't raid but I could get the decent past season arena gear with honor points. (hunters are completely useless in the arenas).

Arenas are to dependent on classes and specs, raiders and player who want to do BGs right at 70 can hang it up now. So far from the chat on my server, all but maybe 2 teams will be doing arenas now, We all liked it cause for DPS classes we could slowly work toward a reward that was awesome in raids and freeing up a need to roll on loot. I thought the weapons and shoulders was fine, but to put ratings on other items AND BG gear? I love the game but it has way to many imbalances as it is, now if I want to win, I need to spec out of my DPS fury spec as a warrior and go Arms and tell my friends to fuck off while I find me a druid or paladin...since I refuse to put the game before a friends of which we all do not make the ideal arena class make ups, maybe it is time to put WoW down. And btw, even I hated battling full S3 players in the 1500s, but it will happen in S4, name one fix that blizz ever did that got rid of exploits, enjoy my links about the point sellers current work arounds. It is why most never give Gladiators credit even if they are honestly goos, we see S3 and ask how much it cost. I hate that it is like that.
